I remember the first time I had these. OH MY… I thought I had hit the jackpot. Mrs. Bruner made them and they were just my favorite things EVER. I guess I wasn’t the only one. When I invited Angela to the festivities and explained the purpose and what we were making, she begged me to make these. Apparently they have quite the staying power. Mrs. Bruner and her husband Don were always so nice to me and Jeff. They were friends of my parents, made through a connection with Mom. They had a horse named Brandy that I loved loved loved. And apparently, the original recipe card for the Magic Cooky (Cookie) Bars which is in my mother’s possession includes a picture of Brandy the horse on the back that I drew.
